Now, as I just said in the start of my chapter two, I'll open up a discussion here. Basically, what I'm doing with this story, and a couple of other of my MRverse plans, is that I'm using MRverse as a way of weaving in some of my real life events into fiction. I'm mostly doing this to sort of practice writing fiction, because I used to journal quite frequently. Writing from life comes easily to me, and so kind of twisting my life events and turning them into fiction, I feel, may be a great way for me to transition into writing fiction better. However, I'm kind of weary about it, since it's basically like posting straight up journal entries online. Then again, I suppose some bloggers get popular for doing just that... :noidea:
Anyway, what do you guys think of this little experiment of mine? Approve/disapprove? Why so? So on and so forth.
Also, just to be sure we're all on the same page here: I am absolutely not just simply copying exact from my real-life experiences. I am altering them heavily to fit into MRverse. And, of course, don't worry: a lot of you will be popping up in the story/stories eventually.
I suppose I'll also give a bit of a pretext here.
My original idea actually came from me sitting around thinking: Huh. I was on hiatus from MR for a long time. I wonder if I could write an MRverse inspired story to explain my absence through me being on other parts of the net.
So, that's what you guys can be looking forward to. I'll also toss the idea up in the air and not exactly ask permission so much as try to explain, but the way I have my plot set up for the future stories is to have different threads for different things. Hence Tenderly Returned focuses on my initial time on MR while I was still with my girlfriend at the time, who also was on MR for a short time. I'll put this next bit in spoiler.
Ending of Hence Tenderly Returned
The end of this section will come after Dezzi "fades into becoming a guest spectre", because she became inactive before I did, which then sparks me going on a journey into the net to find myself.
With that in mind, hopefully it makes more sense that after this sort of "arc" is over (which is looking like it might be five or six chapters) for me to start up a new thread to explain the goings-on of my actual hiatus. That thread should turn out to be much longer, given how long my hiatus lasted. All things considered, it might take about three "seasons" worth of material, if you can kind of follow that, and I plan on featuring my other internet friends such as my Skype group (of course, only the ones who give me permission, and some names/appearances may be altered based on their comfort level, and some may not even show up. Ethics, you understand.) and glossing over some of our crazy shenanigans, which will eventually loop me back to MR for a third thread, which is where most of the fun, you-guys-being-involved, real MRverse feel should really kick into high gear.
If you were to combine all three of those planned threads, you will have that Mahlua's Memoirs kind of thing that I mentioned in my Origin Story to Pub-tan. After that, it's kind of up in the air as to whether or not I'll keep writing MRverse stories, seeing as right now I'm also working on yet another Ace Attorney fanfic (for myself this time, rather than the PWKM) which I may or may not post in the FanFiction section once completed.
Mind my ramblings. Discuss away!
Speaking of not starting a fight, I hope nobody tries to take this latest chapter in that direction. I added a postscript for exactly that purpose. I said it there and I'll say it again here. We're not going to discuss that person. I only brought her up because her actions did play a role in

Dezzi deciding to leave MR.
Bluh, I'm starting to really, really see an issue with my pacing. It's kind of all over the place. Then again, it was my bright idea to try to condense a year-long irl relationship into a few months of an MR relationship. But yeah, this lovely little shpeel of mine should only be another chapter or two before I move on to my next MR Story project:

Mahlua's adventures on other parts of the interwebs while on her MR-hiatus!
I'm pretty sure that drastic change in theme and setting is worthy of making a new topic for, anyway... :sure:
*Punches a wall to feel manly again.
Also the cameo of that character.
Mahlua, I underestimated your knowledge of the MR Canon. You even managed to correctly display the Righteous Science Division, which has no hand in the terrible weather conditions that plague the city.
The puns almost destroyed me hahahaha. I have no words.
I don't know if it's the right word for something so feels-trippy and not-exactly-happy-ending, but it was a good read. Also, it's no problem writing from ze heart. It's where the best writing comes from, after all.
I hate that syndrome where characters in stories can have great dialogue but in real life things just fall to pieces. The disclaimer made me nod in wise understanding and traumatized me a little bit at the same time.
Anyhow, serious props, and that sounds like a great idea!

... Incidentally I do remember Dezzi being around. Sorry it didn't work out
I believe this will be my 666th post.
Oh man, when you get to writing that story, you should totally get with me. I have a lot of neat ideas for other places on the net. Would be nice to talk some of them over with someone else who's interested in writing about places other than MR
Sure thing. I had some things in mind in particular given my internet adventures.
As for Lego's comment, I'll reply in order: Wait until you read the last chapter. Incidentally, I included you before I read this discussion thread. I focus on my writing like that.
Not discussing it. Nupe. Uh-uh.
You have Coryn's GoogleDocs guide to thank for that.
Ah, thank you. I'm glad to hear you guys like it. Yeah, real life bites sometimes.

It's totally fine. We're still on speaking terms, and in fact managed to remain pretty solid friends. She's been a better friend to me than my older, known-since-middle-school friends who have all but gone at this point. In fact, I linked her to the story as well. She's been reading it too.
