Title: Manga Drawing Workshop - Chibi : Sakura and Hinata
Post by: Hasith on May 26, 2009, 04:23:37 PM
Well Chibi things are bit easy to draw. Just 2 simple Chibi characters from Naruto Anime. Hinata and Sakura the most popular girls in Naruto.

That's a nice job, Hannah. I actually like your bodies better than the originals. Your heads are probably not 'chibi' enough, though... chins are too pointed, heads are a little undersized. They're not 'wrong', just not chibi enough. Your characters have a center of gravity, they're balanced... real chibis would tip over in real life...  because of their GIGANTIC HEADS! :-)

That said, what you have drawn is a nice comic style

but thank you! i should go practice doing chibi characters, though. :Embarrassed:

Wow Hannah your Chibi drawings are great. Both of them look great. Like Tim said heads should be bit bigger since Chibi stuff has huge heads. You have improved a lot! Keep it up !

Í agree in that, and Hannah's eyes could be a little... rounder? Good drawings anyway  Hmmm..... Maybe I should try? I want to be better at chibi after all :secret:

This my help people with chibis... they're usually 2 heads high... the head takes up 1/2 of the entire figure. The heads also extend far beyond the shoulders, so that the total head is nearly twice as wide as their shoulders.

Everyone messes up inking at times... that's why you have to have Wite-Out or some other brand of white correction fluid. Even the pros, if you've ever seen an inked page from them, will have Wite-out all over the place. It would be almost impossible to ink without it. It comes in bottles, and pens. Simply draw over the bad inked line, then after the white dries, redraw the line. You can also use it to draw... for example adding white catch-lights in eyes. It's on every comic artist's desk.

i would but my sketchbook is a cream color so white out would probably make it look worse
