Yay! bleach! but much better than the FMA one i think. you just have to remember that the biggest part of an amv is timing. try and make the video flow with the music almost like the characters from the anime are dancing to the song
Title: Re: home-made amvs
Post by: h_musick on April 18, 2009, 11:12:45 AM
that's what i try really hard to do. like every thing is to the beat. like you said a dance!  :D it's fun!

Im going to have to find another anime to do these for though! i only have really watched fma and bleach! >:( i will do the comedy type one for bleach, and then i will find a new anime to do them for! yea!
Title: Re: home-made amvs
Post by: dawood on April 18, 2009, 12:33:00 PM
these amv's are really cool... you can tell you've spent a lot of time on them... and the music fits... lol... a bonnie tyler remix whoever thought that would make a good song for an amv.. but you pulled it off....   i just wish i had that amount of time to make amv's

Hmmm... One problem about using only one episode is that it's more like playing one episode with music added... If ya know what I mean... But the music is fitting the anime :D REmember, that the more the music is synchronosized with the actions and cuts, the better vid :D

yes! i know i know... and i really thought it was! ah! ill keep trying. i want to redo this one then... ah, disappointing. lol. i tried to throw in a few things from other episodes, but it was just random! i guess i should forget about the story! lol  :laughing11:

I really like the originality of the video in song and feeling. The flow from one relationship to another is nice but it seems to be cut off at times when transitioning to another relationship and then back.

On the technical side, the only big problem I have is from the Divx logo popping up all over. Is that from your editor or is it from the source? If you can, try finding more recent MKVs to demux and use as your video source. Most of the time, it will allow you to cut out the subtitles. It takes more time and resources, but well worth it to bring extra attention to your video.

May I ask which editor you're using?
Title: Re: home-made amvs
Post by: h_musick on June 06, 2009, 02:53:07 AM
ill look at it in a bit to see what you mean. Thanks for pointing it out.

i was wondering if i could get rid of all the sub titles... i hope i can get a better editor very soon.
right now i am using windows movie maker. i know there are some really awesome editors out there.

thank you for the pointers! i really appreciate it. and i'll work on the one a little more sometime this week.
Title: Re: home-made amvs
Post by: SaiHawkeye on June 06, 2009, 03:22:19 AM
You won't be able to get rid of the subtitles from the source because they're hardsubbed. That's the reason I told you to use .mkv sources because those contain a raw video file with the audio and subtitles being muxed together so that you can have a clean, high quality video file to make your music videos. Of course, you'll have to learn how to demux the video steam from the .mkv files.

No prob! You have potential as an AMV author. I would like to point out that many of the popular AMV artists have tips on their websites that you may use as a guideline for your own. Back when I was making AMVs, I loved experimenting with their guidelines and seeing what I could do to make it my own style and take it further.

Like with drawing, making a good AMV takes time and study. =)

actually hannah sub titles arnt always a bad thing. some people prefer them so they now whats going on in the story.
Title: Re: home-made amvs
Post by: h_musick on June 07, 2009, 03:19:52 PM
yeah, that's true.
there was one video i saw that the author had highlighted (or something) the subs, it went really great with the music.
so i guess i just need to learn when they are appropriate.(?)

recently i've been downloading a lot....  and of course i download for FREE.. lol...cos i am a penny pincher...lol
there are torrents which you can download for free.... and the quality is amazing... its hard for me to explain... lol....  so i've tried finding something that you could understand alot better.... ( i hope this is right???) lol

maybe just try not starting it up so early. it's an amv so viewers really wont need the emotional buildup that the clip is providing so if you only make it a few seconds long then it will have the same effect by simply reminding the audience of when they first saw the show

awesome korn remix!

i agree the intro was a little long, and cutting the intro away from the amv with "an amv by ____" kinda threw me outta the feelings invoked by the intro O_o

another problem i had was that the fighting was sped up and the ending was at that same speed, making the movements look awkward which also threw me out of the feeling of the amv

the middle was great the way it is, i would jsut slow down the walking and falling bit at the end to make it look more natural

when i watched it i thought the intro was goin to take up the entire amv........the end was good though >w<

The remix lasts only like 2 min. so i tried to take a part of the song and add it behind ... i think you could hear that.

I try to fix the speedup part abit.

You should just do the part where they/she says "Watashi wa... BLACK ROCK SHOOTA!". That should be enough for a good intro, but I love the song.

I didn't notice, lol.

When i first made it i was not going to upload it. It was just clips from all the videos i have made. then i realized i had not posted any new videos so i uploaded the only thing i had. now... i don't have an editor, and i can't figure out how to download...so that's some of the story... sorry, i was proud of it.

It's okay to be proud of your AMVs. I'm staff for a con in the AMV Department, and although I haven't been put through the gamut just yet, I'm sure I'll get to see works of all kinds. Yours won't be winning awards, but it certainly won't be making judges eyes bleed either.

One thing I will critique you on is coherency: The individual parts work well on their own, but together they don't really build anything greater.
