Not really happy to see that, but also not really surprised. I'll read it and see what happens I guess.

Comes out tomorrow right?

Have a pretty good idea of what to expect... we'll see if it was a good move or not :noidea:

I hope Boruto has a different personality going for him.

And it'd be nice if we were trolled and Naruto only shows up rarely. His story is done!

It's called "The Seventh Hogake and the Scarlet Spring"... so that possibility is rather low...

Was okay. Slight twist, but doesn't feel very special or different yet.

Liked that chapter. It feels surreal though. I guess I just really don't trust sequels or spinoffs. I'll see how it goes though. This week has been great for me in manga anyways so i'm feeling optimistic

I liked the chapter, it was interesting enough for me to read it without looking away. Much like Lego, I don't really trust spin-offs and/or sequels. There are a few that can pull them off such as Dragonball and Dragonball Z, but besides those few I just end up disliking them because of the change of things. I like change but a bit too much change can ruin a series for me. However, I think Naruto Gaiden is gonna be pretty good. I can't say much of course, but so far it's pretty decent.

i actually like this story. and the ending is great. i never liked the idea of Sakura magically getting what she wanted, so this suggests more.

I did suspect the resemblance was an issue, and it's interesting that the main character is a female

Post by: legomaestro on May 07, 2015, 02:57:52 PM
Oh oh, Naruto and Sasuke are main characters again. Well at least the girl is tagging along.

Was okay with the chapter. Nice action scene in the beginning, and it's interesting to see that villains haven't all suddenly vanished from the earth.

I preferred this over the 1st one. I felt this had more bang.

This is a pretty good chapter.

So Sakura went and got herself kidnapped. *Facepalm*

And I really was hoping Naruto and Sasuke wouldn't be the main characters again. Ugh.

Totally ruining the ending that Naruto had for me, man.

Boruto won't be in the whole story right until the very end where he saves everything :P

Sakura getting kidnapped just made me facepalm so badly I didn't even comment on it at the time.

Erm so has Gaiden finished now???

Apparently so.

How odd, I heard the Adaptation was going to be a spin off Series about Boruto? But now I hear he's getting a movie? I'm so confused  :-\
Title: Re: Naruto Sequel!?
Post by: legomaestro on July 03, 2015, 09:43:21 AM
Yeah it's finished and now a Boruto movie is coming out.

Well, Kishimoto can do what he likes but I don't quite feel like following through whatever next iteration comes out. Did DBZ come out so fast after the original Dragonball finished ? Or ?

Maybe it didn't hit it off in Japan like he had hoped it would??

Well I'm sure the Japs are loving it? Or something? But all this business... Revealing Kakashi's face, bringing in project after project. He's definitely still in Naruto man. Might as well have made a time skip and continued the manga haha.

Looks like There's going to be a sequel series after all... And it's called Boruto... Well I kinda like the new character so I'll probably read it. It's going to be a monthly release starting nest issue it says.

(I went ahead and made this the discussion thread. :sure:)

Please, I'm still stuck on the fact that Orochimaru has pretty much gotten away with everything. I don't know how the dude hasn't been locked away in prison forever

LOL BUT WHAT ARE A FEW WAR CRIMES, CONSPIRING WITH TERRORISTS, AND ILLEGAL EXPERIMENTS BETWEEN FRIENDS AMIRITE?  :clapping:

Still interesting though. I quite like how Boruto is more like his dad when he was younger and has to learn to be like him

If anyone knows, are the spoiler rumors true? About the major changes that are about to happen.

I don't want to write it here because I don't want to spoil it for others. Any news?

I just read an article now. Do you mean about who is drawing it? In any case go ahead. People entering this topic should expect latest spoilers by default methinks haha

Spoiler
that naruto and sasuke are dead

I don't know how to feel about that. I know people don't like change but Jeez!

I feel sad for
Spoiler
Hinata. I don't like the idea of her remarrying.

Wait where did you hear that from? That'd be pretty surprising stuff if true, but it should be a matter of course to be honest. The god modding can only go so long in the ninja world.

I dunno why but that "leak"'s images looked off to me. Hoping it's fake anyways because that is a terrible way for the story to go.
Title: Re: Boruto Discussion

the enemy could just rob his chakra or completely take away his chakra network. He would live but just be useless. That is what Heroes did when Peter got to OP. I would prefer that route.

Could you link me to this leak? Can't see anything and read nothing of the sort in the latest naruto news

Peter Petrelli. Still one of my favourite heroes. Damn I wish Heroes landed its ending or got a comic I could stand behind, but even the reboot didn't fulfill what I wanted.

They had a great marketing campaign at least.

Yikes! That's something else now. Will just have to wait and see as to what happens. Shouldn't he genetically be able to have Byakugan though? The implant thing seems really grim. In any case it'd be cool to check it out.

Just hopping in here to say:

1) What the heck?
2) No, Boruto doesn't genetically have Byakugan. The reason? Kishimoto admitted it's because he forgot to give it to him. ::)
Title: Re: Boruto Discussion
Post by: legomaestro on May 02, 2016, 10:05:22 PM
What??? I have no words haha.

Also it doesn't count if they still get to meet through edo tensei or dream world stuff. I mean even Kakashi got to meet his father darnit. Death lost all its seriousness in Naruto. I wouldn't have had a problem with that if Zabuza hadn't been such a badass ninja. Even his minions were dangerous. I will never forget the dude who hid in a puddle in an attempt to assassinate someone hahaha. That was just too ninja for its own good.

Just read it and I liked it but I'm not exactly looking forward to what the first few pages entailed.
Title: Re: Boruto Discussion
Post by: Forlorn Serpent on May 03, 2016, 07:26:29 PM
I just realized this is a monthly manga now.

The recap was a little lame. Once again I will see Boruto act like a douche.

The whole it's my story thing was kind of annoying. No duh. But whatever.

Is anyone going to drop it already?

"If everyone can be a ninja... No one will be" right? Right?

I bet ten ten is pissed. All her life's training is basically now been replaced.
Title: Re: Boruto Discussion
Post by: legomaestro on May 04, 2016, 01:27:57 AM
Yikes, seeing what the first pages implied does make it hit harder now. Poor Seventh.

I wish they didn't start from what the movie showed though, just personally haha because I want to see what happens further than the ninja tool thing. I suppose the movie was a test concept of what really does happen in Boruto.

It took a while to get used to the way Sasuke and Hinata look, but fine by me I guess.

Monthly manga are painful indeed to read. 12 chapters per year... If you're lucky.
Title: Re: Boruto Discussion
Post by: LittRL on May 04, 2016, 11:06:05 AM
At about 60 pages isn't that fair? I assume it'll likely drop to 30 or 40 after a month or two but I like monthly mangas more because the pacing always feels better.

Though I can't say I'm super hyped for this series I plan to read it just like I did Naruto.

I didn't watch the movie, mostly cause most of the other movies aren't canon so I didn't get into the habit.

Anyone else thinking the ninjutsu apparatus is a bit uninspired?
Title: Re: Boruto Discussion
Post by: legomaestro on May 04, 2016, 12:33:40 PM
I'd sort of expect conventional weapons to be the thing to take ninjas out of business yeah haha.

I don't know though, I find it okay. My main gripe is that Boruto says he's not Naruto, but his world is revolving around him. Need to see some different personality traits for him somehow.

That being said watching the movie I enjoyed some bits here and there. I'll be reading this too, against my earlier statements.

It's weird getting used to the slight differences in art between this and Naruto, but I've got to say I've always been impressed by how super useful the line art in Naruto/Boruto is used. It just looks so great on the eyes, and the backgrounds are to die for.

We're not quite yet out of the movie adaptation yet, but i'm interested in seeing what happens.

I still feel Naruto concluded well enough to be something, but I've got to admit I'm just too curious about what happens to completely ignore this haha.
Title: Re: Boruto Discussion
Post by: legomaestro on November 25, 2016, 04:53:29 PM
If there's anything I've got to say, is that the art has gotten to where it needed to be. That's some great improvement right there, and it's so surreal to remember that these characters started from way back when. I still think  Bolt (I refuse to call him Boruto anymore oh gawd) should grow into his own element and character down along the line, but I'm surviving this. I'm dealing.
Title: Re: Boruto Discussion
Post by: legomaestro on January 26, 2017, 10:12:46 PM
I dislike Sasuke, but his action is always epic to see, no lie.

As usual the absolutely unique Boruto is still riding the coattails of his father. Maybe they'll finally let his own story develop? Mitsuki's one shot was interesting for doing that quite well, and even Sarada haha.

Title: Re: Boruto Discussion
Post by: legomaestro on February 24, 2017, 08:28:58 AM
Free of the movie plotline and the close ties to Naruto, it's now time for Boruto to bring its own things to the story. I liked this chapter for sure.
Title: Re: Boruto Discussion
Post by: legomaestro on May 13, 2018, 04:07:18 AM
Come on Konomaharu you don't just have a seal-cancelling jutsu that you don't even use on teammates/subordinates. Seriously dude? Is that how ninjas plan on fighting when they're in battle? Just solo tank an enemy attack? Raeg.

Frog jutsus and fire are pretty interesting.
Title: Re: Boruto Discussion
Post by: Coach Fro on May 15, 2018, 03:42:23 PM
Totally forgot that Boruto was even a thing. Then again, I wasn't following Naruto that much either.

How the series looking so far, Lego? It is even worth checking out? Does it feel unique in its own way?  Has Boruto come into his own self yet? Is Anko still fat?

Still mad they randomly made Anko fat. Like, why? What was the point of that? She's still number one waifu though.
Title: Re: Boruto Discussion
Post by: legomaestro on May 22, 2018, 05:53:26 AM
Hahaha but Anko became more waifu by adding some weight. A woman has got to have something on her *Activated African accent* Not like these skeletons walking over here and there tssk.

Boruto is... Meh? It's like seriously dead to me and I can't even be pissed off about it anymore. I just don't care that much. The art has gone into its element though so the action is good, but the troupes that were interesting in Naruto feel so tired here. Oh yay Boruto saves the day, and everyone else is a side-character.

I won't lie I have no idea what the grander plot is going to be, so I'm still going to be checking it out.

Title: Re: Boruto Discussion
Post by: legomaestro on June 02, 2018, 07:28:26 AM
Art looked particularly good this time around, and it got a bit interesting. Wish they wouldn't talk so much in circles, but i'm looking forward to the fight a bit.
Title: Re: Boruto Discussion
Post by: legomaestro on October 02, 2018, 07:27:12 PM
There's nothing more Naruto than him having to stop his kid fighting with a kage bunshin while he's in the middle of a toilet break. I feel that not only has the art style caught up to its inspiration, some of the humour is back there too. Kawaki looks like he's going to be a Gary Stu Sasuke again. I really hope he has more to offer but knowing the series he's going to be walking on water and being dark and emo ad infinitum until the flash forward where he fights Boruto. I swear if that fight is resolved by the power of friendship as well I'll fight!

... This'll be all the more hilarious a statement if Boruto goes on for decades haha. I wonder if I'll still be reading manga and watching anime in the future.
