Hello from Germany
« on: February 05, 2013, 04:04:42 AM »
Hello

I am 22 and come from Germany. I am here to find out if Manga drawing the right thing for me and if I am so good like all say.  :-\

It's sound crazy I know, but you know, don't trust family and friends when you ask "am i good". Moreover, I am here to boost me to draw more, instead of heaving here a blank account with 1 post in the Welcome section  ;)

More to me:
Currently I study a media related computer since course on a German University with the goal to work later in the video / film industry as Modelling or Animation artist. I started Manga Drawing 7 years ago, when I was in the secondary school. After 2 years and the buying of a Wacom Bamboo my motivation to draw strangely stoped. My skills are very low, cause my perfectionism it take long to draw a simple sketch of anything  :-\

Animes I saw or See:
  • One Piece
  • Sword Art Online
  • Hyouka

Manga I read:
  • Dr. Slump
  • Dragon Ball

Well that's was it for now.  ::)

Greetings
Red_Snake

welcome to MR!

You'll still have friends critiquing you here I'm afraid, but we'll be honest with you for sure.

Will review stories upon request. My latest arc: http://goo.gl/KYgsfF

Welcome aboard to MR my friend :)

it seems i've found someone the same as me with a trait of being a "perfectionist" lol :p

though lately, i've been finishing sketches and drawings once i started it, i try not to pay attention to the details of it anymore because when i do, i can't finish my work. I just think of it as my training and then finish it whatever results i get :)

have fun here~

Welcome!
You want to find out if manga is for you? It's all about how much you love doing it! If you love it, then it's for you. Disregard profit to draw amazing manga! XP
All artists struggle with whether, or not, their work is good. Perhaps you should find an artist that deeply inspires you, that you respect, and ask them to review your portfolio. Their feedback should be able to help you decide for yourself where you are on the "good scale"
Can't wait to see your work!

i used to be a bit of a perfectionsit (kept the typo cos it's lol), but in order to improve, i threw it away. better to draw 500 bad drawings than one good one, because you will learn so much from mistakes. something i have started doing more is when i have drawn a picture, analysing it and finding whats wrong, then drawing it again etc.

EDIT: forgot to say, welcome to MangaRaiders :P
