Material studies!? Damn man you could be onto something there for sure. Yeah the Q could be better haha, I actually want to see them in better Q. Make your next piece something similar too!

Now I remember where my joy was. It's the single pose character thing. I just really want to move into sequential art, and if I have to draw singular characters then I want to at least level something up... For now the hands.

Anyhow I hope I can make a little comic page for every Inktober.

since you asked so nicely, here is my day 7. wasn't sure right up to the end if I was just drawing an outfit or an invisible person wearing said outfit. ended up doing half-half which led to a slightly weird feel. also no pun intended ,but a coat of arms for something in a story top left.

Well basically... Illustrations vs. Comics I guess? Polished looking characters making a sexy pose with a weapon are great and all but I lean towards the storystelling side of things.

Aaaaah you're doing fashion then? The second outfit is my favourite.

10 minute rush.  Midnight dawning. Too lazy. (insert more excuses here)

Mandala action no jutsu. Bottom left my favourite because it mixes flow with stability.. If that makes sense.

the top left and bottom right are my favourites. it's hard to draw symmetrically without guidelines though lol

and nice to see some blue pen, I think everything looks better in blue personally :P

managed to finish before the day ended this time haha.

day 10: the city started out as isometric but ended up as 1 or 2 point perspective. one needs to keep mentally alert to these things otherwise they sneak up on you :P
the pen also died on me and I didn't have a spare handy :(

Isometrism looks so good when done right, but its a perspective form I'll never attempt. That being said you have a really nice background planned out there. Like the chip drawing too.

Day 10

Spoiler

And Re: Day 9 yeah guidelines make the world go round. I'll go traitor one of the days and use a pencil to see how it helps with planning a page.

cool comic page. for the portrait, it's maybe not as accurate as you would have liked, but a good effort nonetheless, especially as you actually completed it, which is a skill in itself.

my belated day 11: took 45 minutes just for this bit, so I gave up on doing a whole page. pipes V2 :P

First one I started with the eyes first and completely missed the mark, second I did the overall headshape first and it turned out better, and being brave enough to artifically enhance shadows made me happier with it overall. Still a miss, but a better miss imo.

it's good to try out different methods until you find the one that works the best. I generally draw the head shape first, often using the hairline as a major guide as well. the second one did turn out better indeed, especially the eyes and nose. I found it helpful practicing each face part separately so I got used to seeing the smaller details and could capture them better.

Day 12 > Forgot I used up both my ink pens > Only have ballpoint > Can only draw "normal" pages in ballpoint > Drew a normal page > Not quite "Inktoberish" > Pressed heavily on one drawing > Finished my page > Finally remembered I had a spare ink pen in my drawer T_T
